War in Iraq: Seven Years is Too Many
This month marks seven years since the US invasion of Iraq. Vigils and demonstations to call for peace are planned across the country. Local gatherings include:
In Irvine: Candlelight vigil is planned Sunday, March 21, 7-8:30 pm at the corner of Alton Parkway and Culver Drive. It will be in remembrance of the casualties of war as well as to demonstrate for peace. All are welcome and requested to bring signs and candles. This event is sponsored by the Peace and Justice Advocates of the Irvine United Congregational Church.
In Los Angeles:The Orange County Peace Coalition is reserviing bus transportation from Santa Ana and Seal Beach to the Saturday, March 20, ANSWER Los Angeles Protest. Bus will leave Santa Ana around 10 am. For reservations call Sharon Tipton at 949 257-8501.
